Biography
Originally from Hyannis, Massachusetts, I attended The Governor's Academy,
the oldest boarding school in America. I received B.A. degrees in Economics and French from the
University of Kansas. Upon graduation, I taught elementary French courses at
the University of Kansas for two years and worked as an intern at the World Trade Center division of the Greater
Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
I am currently pursuing a masters degree in Urban Planning within the KU School
of Architecture and Urban Design, graduating in May of 2007. I am specifically interested in public health planning, which has recently lead to me to some
interesting work. I spent the summer of 2005 collecting and plotting geographic references for large quantities of species data
worldwide for a Department of Defense bioterrorism grant. Since 2005, I have worked as an intern in advocacy planning and public affairs at a women's health group in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area
that provides health services to underserved communities.
I spend my spare time playing with my daughter Beatrix, running, knitting, listening to National Public Radio, reading and planning my summer vegetable garden.
